Richard is the Co-Founder of the Apio Group which commenced business in November 2011 as an Independent Retail Insurance Broker focused on providing risk and insurance solutions to Business enterprises. Since 2017 the Apio Group increased its capacity by establishing subsidiary companies, Apio Risk Solutions (Trade Credit, Bonds &Guarantees) and Apio Wealth (Financial Planning, Employee Benefits, Life Insurance), to become a leading diversified financial services business. Prior to that Richard held executive management positions at Alexander Forbes (now Marsh) and Econorisk. In 2021 Apio further strengthened its capacity and became the South African partners of Olea. Richard has consulted to a diverse range of businesses in South Africa in mining, energy, information technology, hospitality and manufacturing.
