In January 2017, OLEA started its activity in 3 countries: Côte d’Ivoire, Benin and Cameroon. Since January 2022, only 5 years later, OLEA is now present in 24 countries and has built a strong relationship with 14 partners in French, English and Portuguese speaking Africa, allowing it to support its clients in nearly 40 countries.

This network, unique in Africa due to its geographical coverage, has developed through a mix of buy-outs of 15 brokerage firms and the opening of 9 greenfield subsidiaries.

OLEA, the name

OLEA, is a project launched in 2017 by two entrepreneurs, Olivier Dubois and Olivier Canuel, with more than 30 years of experience in insurance brokerage in Africa.

OLEA is both a Latin reference to the Olive Tree, a symbol of peace, and a nod to the first name of the two founders of the OLEA Group.

OLEA is, last but not least, “ OLivier Et Associés”, because it is a collective entrepreneurial adventure, supported and developed by all the Managing Directors of each subsidiary, and their passionate teams, which places the emphasis on people serving people.
